Public Awareness Campaign

 

An Egyptian Public Awareness Campaign:

Amplifon Middle East works in close collaboration with the medical community, with which it shares the fundamental mission of hearing restoration. With the help of the ENT/Audiology community, Amplifon started a national public awareness campaign to allow for early diagnosis and adequate rehabilitation of hearing-impaired persons. This Egyptian Patient-Doctor interaction via Amplifon Middle East has as its main objective, the rehabilitation of hearing loss and a recovery of the patient’s ability to communicate and socialize. This synergistic approach guarantees a maximum coverage and creates awareness about hearing problems among the public, who will consequently seek medical advice. This loop or cycle between Amplifon, doctors and the general public has the ultimate goal of providing the hearing-impaired persons with the highest quality service.

Amplifon was keen to broadcast its message to the public through the different materials and media Channels :

Public Awareness Material:

The awareness activities of the campaign started with various promotional materials including a leaflet for the patient briefly explaining hearing, hearing problems, causes, possible safety precautions. All these materials were distributed through Amplifon Middle East outlets and public awareness meetings sponsored by the company.

Public Awareness Meetings:

These meetings are held in the major social and sports clubs all over Egypt to make the public aware of the problem of hearing loss. Educating the public about causes, prevention and dealing with hearing loss, is expected to decrease the common social stigma.

Amplifon Middle East Awareness Book

This campaign gains more momentum through the anticipated publishing of an awareness book, authored by a good number of the most eminent Egyptian doctors in the fields of ENT and Audiology.

Newspapers and Journals

Series of ads are published in Ahram, Akhbar, Gomhoreya & Messa daily newspapers as well as in widely distributed magazines, e.g.Rosal Youssef, Nesf El-Donia and
Tabeebak-el khas.

Radio

Furthermore, a radio program was aired on the famous “Shabab & Reyada” station, including 15 episodes covering main topics concerning hearing problems of interest t the public. Advertising for this program was, through ads in newspapers and magazines, as well as promotional ads transmitted by the radio station.
In addition, Amplifon Middle East had spots in peak times on "Negoum FM" station directed to the public to increase their awareness about hearing problems and its impact on communication.

TV

Amplifon was contacted by the famous Arabic Channels MBC to make a recording  about hearing loss and ITE hearing instruments in their famous program “Green apple”.
The public health specialized Channel transmitted a coverage of reportage of one of the public awareness club meetings, which took place at El Shams Sporting Club.
